Barbara Ives is a retired Navy Captain with over 27 years of service and a proven leader in Education and Academia having served many years in senior leadership positions in Secondary and Higher Education promoting and achieving innovation in all aspects of learning. As an educational consultant and mentor, she serves to provide her expertise in grants, educational management and leadership training needs for Southern Maryland schools and the Navy.
Ms. Ives is the Co-owner and COO of GIE, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides professional solutions, services and consulting through technology innovation and application for Government and Commercial clients.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Ms. Ives is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Southern Maryland. She serves on several Boards throughout our Southern Maryland region to include AFCEA, Southern Maryland Navy Alliance, St. Mary’s County Historical Society and supporter of Veteran groups to include Warfighter Advance and the Southern Maryland Veteran Support Coalition.
